NLP Canada Training Inc.
Since November 2000, NLP Canada Training Inc. has continued in the footsteps of NLP Canada, one of the first companies to bring NLP to Canada. Derek Balmer, the founder of NLP Canada, was certified as an NLP practitioner by both John Grinder & Richard Bandler in the early 1980s. During his long career in NLP, Derek trained and mentored Chris Keeler. When Derek died, Chris continued his work and founded NLP Canada Training.
In 2003, Linda Ferguson joined Chris, first as a business partner and later as a training partner. Linda now runs all the day-to-day operations of the company and leads its training in NLP, storytelling and communication. Linda’s passion for language and storytelling proved a very good fit for Chris’s mastery of nonverbal communication and life stories. Together they bring an unusual range to their understanding, training and development of the practices and principles of NLP.
Linda and Chris share a deep belief that their real work is to help people become wide awake, in all their senses, to good possibilities within themselves and within their lives. They are each driven by the moments when, separately and together, they witness hope awaken and stir within the people with whom they work.
You can visit NLP Canada Training at our home on the web at www.nlpcanada.com. We run frequent evening programs that hold something for everyone from newcomers to NLP Masters. Our website will give you program descriptions and a complete calendar. We’d love to have you join one of our programs.
Our main trainings are certifications in The Coaching Applications of the Enneagram (taught by Barb Luedecke, one of the HOPE speakers), Ericksonian Hypnosis (taught by Mike Mandel) and NLP (taught by Linda & Chris). As we grow, we are also able to offer occasional courses taught by our graduates. You’ll learn more about that at our website, too.
If you’re taking your first steps into any of the areas we teach, you will also want to explore the free information we post online. You can find one-page articles here that are suitable for download (there are about 35 and that number is growing). If you prefer your information online and in different media, you might also want to download a powerpoint presentation at slideshare.net.
One of our favourite ways of sharing information is to create lenses at Squidoo.com. These are web pages that combine some explanations and short articles with links to other web sites, youtube videos, and Amazon lists of relevant and recommended books. Our basic lens on NLP is called Why NLP Works and its found at www.squidoo.com/nlp4skeptics. This will give you a balanced introduction to what’s great in NLP, what needs to be approached with a healthy skepticism, and where you can find reliable information.
After you’ve explored Why NLP Works you can follow links to almost 20 lenses on topics related to NLP, Hypnosis and the Enneagram.
We also write ntgr8, a blog for our community. Once or twice a week, we post some reflections on how people find the best in themselves and others.
Community is important to us. We have a facebook group, a facebook page, and Linda is active on Twitter and LinkedIn. Find us and interact!
